Description
English: The Admiral Wells public house, Holme, Cambs on Station Road, taken while waiting at the level crossing for a train on the King's Cross–Edinburgh main line. The pub is named after the local landowner, Admiral W Wells, who drained Holme Fen and Whittlesey Mere in the middle of the 19th Century, and had the foresight to record the original ground level by setting up the Holme Post 50017 .
