Summary[edit]

This is the cover of the 2009 issue of Newsweek magazine, resembling the famous headline 1966 Time magazine "Is God Dead?" cover. I believe that this low resolution image is fair use in a Wikipedia article about one particular issue of a magazine, namely the latter.

Source[edit]

The image can be found at http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/pub/s?f=PRN/prnpub&page=1&xtag=PRN-prnphotos-80274&redir=detail&TAG_ID=prnphotos080274 It is the copyright of Newsweek.

Fair use rationale for Is God Dead?[edit]

It is believed that this image is subject to fair use in the article Is God Dead? because:

  1. This image is an image of a magazine cover story which illustrates the enduring cultural impact of the cover story which is the subject of the article.
  2. This is a low-resolution image.
  3. It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to market or sell the work in any way.
  4. The image is being used in an informative way and should not detract from the original work.
  5. No free or public domain images are available as this magazine cover is still under copyright.
