Turtle tank

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Draft:Turtle tank)

Turtle tanks are a Russian innovation in the Russia-Ukraine war. They are standard Russian tanks or armoured vehicles which have been covered with an improvised sheet metal carapace designed to resist FPV drone attacks, with electronic counter-measures pods on top. The carapace looks like the shell of a turtle, hence the name.[1][2][3]

Numerous sources have suggested that the "turtle" modifications may be an effective defence against FPV drones.[4][5][6] However, the turtle modification does not provide protection against other weapons such as landmines and artillery.[7][8]
